CABINET
Clic on pictures for a larger view.As the originals where made by Fender in thoses years, I use 3/4 inch thick solid pine wood for the cabinet.
I made the finger joint bigger (1 inch wide) than the original (usely 1/4 inch thick)
this way I can LOCK the joints with some hard wood dowels pins that will be glue and press fit during assembly.
This make very strong joints, eh this amplifier will be heavy !
The dowell pins holes where made on my press drill and they will become a guide for the hand drill during assembly, you want the dowell right in the middle (and square) of the other plank to joint. The finger joints where made using my small band saw
because I can not use my table saw inside my appartment, much to noisy for my nabers !
An 8 feets plank is just fine for the cabinet. Avoid nutty pine.
I ordered from Vintone a new Black faceplate
http://www.vintone.com/images/faceplates/fp_page23.htmland from Weber a 15 inchs speaker, model California with paper dome.

EXPERIMENT
This is my interpretation of a beam blocker, built in the baffle, a saving of 23.00 $
For the diffuser, I going to glue a spherical cap of a coconut shell on the center ring of the baffle !
Have you ever seen a coconut shell inside a guitar amp ?
